    I was at the show and he definitely didn’t sound as bad as people are making it seem. The whole band sounded really tight. It’s pretty easy to judge a band on your couch watching low quality phone videos. Get out once in a while, it’s fun. And Stephen has never been a great singer but he has a sound that people like and he puts on a good show. None of the songs he wrote require Steve Perry vocals. It’s f’in rock n roll. People whine when rockers use fake vocals and whine when they sing for real. People age and change, It’s life. The people who really love live music are just happy they’re out playing. The tickets were dirt cheap too and was worth the price just to see Blas Elias beat his drums to death. In 2025 society has become a caricature of itself 😂

      @cb24203 I like that you are trying to put a positive spin on something that any other job, you get fire when you can’t do it anymore, not rewarded. Retirement is better than taking money for something that you clearly can’t do anymore. Crazy that people so ok with people who suck at doing their jobs, and will take up and defend them! Crazy

      @cb24203 We go out for shows worth our $ . I have the settings set as high as possible listening on headphones. The vocals are bad. The rhythm section both hired guns is not the problem . Carlos sounds good . Pearcy & Demartini who used to shred are the problem.

      @@Kasper911bandthe point you’re missing is that it’s not just “any other job”. No one gives a crap about anyone at a regular job….because they didn’t write and record badass songs in the 80s 😂 You’re comparing apples to oranges. If the plumber messes up, my house gets flooded. If Pearcy misses some notes, he just misses some notes. See the difference? I have a really simple solution for you….If you don’t like it…don’t listen. It’s ok, some people prefer the couch. 😂

      You sound about my same age and situation. My music career was just taking off at 19. I had taken 2nd place in an 80s "Hot Licks" contest and had band offers (even though I was already in one), an offer to get introduced to a record company as a studio musician, then...my GF got pregnant. I still went on to do studio work, recorded and produced but gave up on it by 30.
      Vocals are the hardest thing to keep up for years but there's a connection to taking care of yourself and deteriorating for lack of. Even EVH had 2 hip replacement surgeries from the abuse over the years. I'd rather remember what Pearcy sounded like in his prime than to see them throw out a product unworthy of the ticket price.

    The presence that Carlos & Warren bring is unmeasurable...it's the same band as the solo band but elevated. It's not about the technical skill people - it's presence and mojo. Warren's phrasing and tone along with Carlos rhythm on this song is what makes it fly. You can play 10 million notes per second at the ride out solo, and it still won't sound as good as warren - sounds like he is using a real amp. I know the vocals are a little rough, but thats not why the people are there - they are there for rock n roll mojo and this has it. Thank God the greatest bassist in Burbank is using a different bass.

    • @madmaxmahoney
      @madmaxmahoney 7 дней назад +4

      I agree. Nobody phrases like Warren. Keep in mind Warren hasn't played this stuff on stage in years and I doubt very much he sits around in his off time practicing his solos over and over. I like that he changes stuff up, he's always did that. Quite frankly Johnny has a tendency to drift in and out of key and in my opinion his phrasing goes out the window when he plays fast. There's a reason most Ratt fans wanted to see Warren back up there, he's the original dude who co-wrote a lot of those classic tunes.

    • @joerectifier
      @joerectifier 7 дней назад +2

      @ Johnny has GIT-itis. He can play fast - and he is a good player - but that means very little in the post EVH/Malmsteen world. There are 11 & 13 year olds that can mimic and parrot fast playing as well. Perhaps if he did that before EVH/Malmsteen he would have something.
      I think what makes Warren sound good is his sorta enigmatic phrases and how he dips in and out of major/mixolydian/dorian. He and Lynch are the ones I assign that sound to - I think they brought it forward.

    • @madmaxmahoney
      @madmaxmahoney 7 дней назад +4

      @@joerectifier He is a good player, but for me personally nothing distinct where I can close my eyes and say hey it's Johnny, and there's tons of better players. Playing fast is easy IMO. It's just putting in the time and attaining muscle memory. Also laying a really wide vibrato on almost everything gets tiresome to the ear. Dynamics help. Warren is his own guy and a very distinct dynamic player. I know it's him in two seconds plus he has great stage presence and a swagger about him that is just cool. Yes he does dip in and out of major/mixolydian/dorian.

    In ear monitors would be a tremendous help. Monitor wedges can be a detriment, which is evident here. They can give a false sense of belief that you are in tune when in reality you are not.
    It's also why Juan is called "the Other Voice of Ratt." Bring him and Blotz back!

    I watched a video of Ratt playing in a bar and Steven Pearcy sang so awful I was embarrassed for him. With that said give him.a break, we don't know his situation, his voice could be gone from.practicing, he could have a virus. Or bad mix or he might not beanle to.hear his monitors or he's using in ear monitors and they aren't working but hang it up and they're done don't wish bad things on them I'd love to here some new material from those two.

    I’m sorry, everyone. I absolutely love Ratt, but, come on, Stephen’s vocals are horrendous here and, unfortunately, if you have watched any of Stephen’s other videos from the last 20 years or so, this horrible singing is nothing new for him. Don’t get me wrong, I feel for the guy, I really do, but, how can anyone sit through two hours of nothing but out of tune singing? It’s Intolerable. I don’t know about anyone else but, I would feel very ripped off and cheated if I paid my hard earned money for a ticket to this show and then heard this embarrassing vocal performance. Once again, I Love & adore Ratt but, come on. Enough is enough. I would actually rather hear pre-recorded vocals that are in tune than hear this out of key noise. Warren is God.

      Totally agree, man. RATT is one of my favorite bands of all time. Stephen has not been able to sing for over 10 years. It's just plain awful and embarrassing. Warren and Carlos are still top notch. The musicianship has always been great, but Pearcy was done long ago. He's just milking a dead horse over and over. Time to give it up and call it a day.
